That depends on your current electrical panel's capacity. Many homes can support a 30-40A Level 2 charger without an upgrade. During your free consultation, we assess your panel and let you know if an upgrade is needed. If it is, we can handle that too.

Yes — always. We are an ESA-licensed electrical contractor, and we pull a permit for every single installation. This is not optional. An uninspected EV charger installation is illegal in Ontario and may void your insurance coverage. We also coordinate the ESA inspection after installation.

Yes. Multi-unit residential building (MURB) installations require smart load management and coordination with property management. We have experience navigating condo board approvals, shared electrical infrastructure, and individual metering solutions.

Level 1 uses a standard 120V household outlet — about 8 km of range per hour, fine for plug-in hybrids but too slow for most full EVs. Level 2 uses 240V (like a dryer outlet) and delivers 30-50 km/hour — ideal for overnight home charging. Level 3 (DC Fast) delivers 80% charge in 20-30 minutes but requires commercial-grade power and is typically only for public or fleet use.

It depends on your needs. For outdoor Canadian installations, the Grizzl-E is nearly indestructible. For smart features and app control, EVduty and HyperCharge are excellent. We'll recommend the best fit during your consultation based on your vehicle, location, and usage.

Most EVs accept 32-48 amps at Level 2. A 40A charger (delivering 32A to the car) is the sweet spot for most homes. If your panel supports it, a 48A charger gives maximum charging speed. We'll determine the right amperage based on your panel capacity and vehicle's onboard charger rating.

A smart charger lets you schedule charging during off-peak hours (saving money on Time-of-Use rates), monitor energy usage, and receive update notifications. It's not strictly necessary, but we recommend it for most installations. The cost difference is typically $50-100.

Our installations are backed by a workmanship warranty. Additionally, all charger brands we carry come with their own manufacturer warranties — typically 3 years for Grizzl-E, and 3-5 years for EVduty and HyperCharge. We handle warranty claims on your behalf if any hardware issue arises.
